 A "Grim" Fairy Tale? No Way!!! Once upon a time, on the Internet Dental Forum, about a dozen Macintosh-using dentists decided the future of Macintosh dental management software was grim indeed. Available Macintosh dental software was sparse and aging. The major dental management package had been purchased by a company which, while denying it, was obviously trying to move Mac users to a PC platform. It was decided to create a dental management package that took full advantage of Mac OS X, but that also incorporated the most forward-looking features, like storage and display of all types of digital images, electronic scheduling with in-office tracking, eclaims, electronic charting and more. Led by Albuquerque dentist and former computer programmer Dan Martinez, the group hammered out the design features that eventually became MacDent Pro. A retired professor of computer science was hired, and the software was written "the right way", with no compromises and in strict accordance with Apple guidelines. The result - a professional management system that will meet the needs of today's modern dental office. |
